From Joomla website to full-fledged B2B/B2C online store with 500+ products and custom shipping logic
Project Description
The collaboration began in 2014 with a simple Joomla website. Over the years, this developed into a full-fledged WooCommerce shop with over 500 products, serving both end customers (B2C) and business customers (B2B).
While standard products are directly purchasable, industrial systems and large projects are handled via a quote form - a hybrid solution that serves both customer groups.
⚠ The Challenge
Migration from a static Joomla website to a full-fledged e-commerce system. Two very different customer groups had to be served: private customers with direct purchase intent and business customers with individual requirements and price negotiations.
Our Solution
A hybrid WooCommerce shop with direct purchase for standard products and "Request quote" function for B2B items. Plus custom shipping logic that automatically distinguishes between parcel and freight shipping.
